About

MD to MD.
No corporate fluff.

Built on real operational experience, not a generic framework.

Hope Advisory is led by Amy Hope. After almost twenty years inside high-end, niche tour operating — including six as Managing Director — Amy built the advisory she would have wanted on the other side of the desk: warm, practical, commercially sharp, and built around the question rather than the framework.

THE STORY SO FAR

Lived experience that cannot be taught.

  1. 2007Studied Business Management with Travel and Tourism at Newcastle Business School at Northumbria University
  2. 2009Began working at The Artisan Travel Company as part of a sandwich placement year in Industry as part of the degree.
  3. 2010Graduated University having worked throughout my final year of study. I began my full-time role the day after my final exam. Working across all teams before specialising in Product and Operations.
  4. 2014Promoted to Product and Operations Manager. First proper grip on FX exposure, yield, and the gap between what a holiday was priced at and what it actually delivered — and just as importantly, a real picture of the customer, and what would genuinely excite them and motivate them to choose not only the company but one holiday over another.
  5. 2020Appointed Managing Director at the height of the pandemic. Took over a founder-led lifestyle business and built the commercial framework from scratch — measurement, margin visibility, channel accountability — that a Praive Equity house would later back.
  6. 2021-2022Rebuilt the sales and marketing model properly for the first time. Channel attribution, conversion tracking, spend accountability. Founding out which activity was genuinely driving bookings at which time of the year and really discovered my passion for ensuring the data was accurate as possible to ensure the best possible spend on any ROI. Underwent frequent product reviews to adapt and maximize the changing markets as people began to travel again post-COVID.
  7. 2023Following the full transformation of the business from a lifestyle-run company to an efficient commercial proposition. I completed a Private Equity -backed Management Buy Out of The Artisan Travel Company. With ongoing guidance and support from Ian Finlay from The Firebird Partnership
  8. 2024Further PE-backed acquisition of Travel Editions, a niche escorted operator, within twelve months of the MBO. Did it all over again — rebuilt the sales and marketing model for a second business from scratch. This time, I also included a full review of product strategy into the mix: which holidays were really earning their place, which were driven by volume, and where the most commercial growth opportunities were going to come from across a varied mix of holiday types.
  9. 2026Left the MD role to build the very thing I needed back when I was in that seat — real clarity, not guesswork. Where that was missing, I wanted to know what needed to change to get the data to make the right decision. I also wanted someone impartial to bounce ideas off, push back constructively, help put the plan together, and see it through. HOPE ADVISORY
How I work

A short list of things I won't do.

  • I won't open with a generic framework. The first conversation is about your business, not my model.
  • I won't pretend the data says more than it does. Where there are gaps, I flag them clearly.
  • I won't bury the answer in 80 slides. You'll get findings, not death by data.
  • I won't use the words leverage, optimise, unlock or transformational. You're welcome.
